Dahua Smart PSS Surveillance Software
Smart PSS is Dahua’s free computer software for Dahua NVRs and DVRs. It gives you access to your system from any Windows or Mac computer, connecting over the internet through your recorder’s Device ID. The current version is called Smart PSS Lite .

Have a Luminys system, like our 5MP kits? You use LumiViewer , the same free app you have on your phone, on your desktop or laptop.
- Live view of up to 64 cameras at once
- Synchronized playback of up to 32 cameras
- Real-time pop-up alerts on your screen
- Export video clips to save or share with police and insurers
- Remote door unlock and door events, on systems with Luminys access control
- Manage up to 128 video channels

Getting Started on Your Computer
We set this up for you at installation. If you’re adding another computer later, it’s four steps:

Install the software
Smart PSS Lite for Dahua, or LumiViewer for Luminys.

Sign in or set a password
Create your login when the software first opens.

Add your recorder
Add it with its Device ID, or let the software find it on your home network.

Watch your cameras
See all your cameras live, or play back recordings, on the big screen.
Which Computer Software Do I Need?
It depends on the brand of your recorder. Both are free.

Computer Software FAQs
Does the computer software cost anything?
No. Smart PSS Lite and LumiViewer are both free, and recording stays on your own NVR, so there are no monthly fees.
Does it work on a Mac?
Yes. Both Smart PSS Lite and LumiViewer come in Windows and Mac versions.
Which one do I need?
It depends on your system: Smart PSS for Dahua recorders, LumiViewer for Luminys recorders. If you’re not sure, call us and we’ll tell you in a minute.
Can you install it for me?
Yes. We set up the computer software at installation, or later on request. If yours stopped connecting or you got a new computer, ask for help using the form below.
Why does my old Smart PSS no longer connect?
Older versions of Smart PSS may stop connecting after Dahua security updates. Installing the current Smart PSS Lite usually fixes it, and we’re happy to help.
